DOES IT HURT?

For the lips area, on a pain scale from 1 to 10, the pain is about 2 to 4, because Gloria uses a reasonable amount of anesthetic and her technique is very delicate. It is slightly uncomfortable but completely bearable. Your lips may become sensitive by the end of the appointment. If you are very sensitive to pain, feel free to take 1-2 Tylenol 30 minutes beforehand. DO NOT take Advil or drink coffee before your appointment. Coffee and Advil will cause more bleeding and also make you more sensitive during the procedure.

For the eyebrow area, we use soothing products, resulting in minimal discomfort.

HOW LONG WILL IT LAST?

Normally, it lasts around 2-3 years, but color retention depends on skin type, age, aftercare, sun exposure, the use of certain products, the immune system, medications, and other health factors.

Here are some factors that will cause the color to fade faster:

  • Oily skin

  • Retinol or Vitamin C

  • Iron deficiency

  • Sun exposure

  • Exfoliants

  • Exposure to saltwater

IF I HAVE VERY FEW EYEBROWS, CAN I STILL DO IT?

Yes, you can. Please send us a photo of your eyebrow area via email at misss.saltpmu@gmail.com, and we'll help determine which eyebrow tattoo method is more suitable for you.

DO I NEED A TOUCH-UP?

We recommend touch-up sessions for everyone. During these sessions, we can adjust the shape and color of your tattoo, make it bolder, or fill in areas that might not have retained pigment as well during the healing process. Touch-ups also extend the longevity of your tattoo. A touch-up appointment can be scheduled no sooner than 4 weeks after your last session. Please consult our FAQ page to ensure the appropriate waiting time after laser treatments, fillers, or botox before scheduling a touch-up.

To schedule touch-ups or if you're looking for a specific option not found in the booking system, please email us directly at misss.saltpmu@gmail.com. Touch-up sessions do involve an additional fee, and this fee increases over time after the initial appointment. Refer to the "Touch-up" page on this website to view the pricing scale for touch-up fees.

CAN I STILL GET LIP BLUSH IF I HAVE LIP FILLER?

Absolutely! Having lip filler does not impact the lip tattooing process or the final results. However, it's important to note that appointments for lip filler and lip blush must be scheduled at least 6 weeks apart from each other.

HOW CAN I PREPARE

This information is given to make sure there's very little bleeding while getting the tattoo. Failure to follow the below instructions can result in poor healed results. Bleeding during the procedure forces the pigment to be pushed out of the skin.

  • Do not consume caffeine and alcohol for 24 hours prior to your appointment to prevent excessive pain and bleeding.

  • Do NOT TAKE ADVIL or other blood thinners such as Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, and/or Ibuprofen unless medically necessary, 48-72 hrs prior to your procedure. Extra-strength Tylenol can be taken if you have low pain tolerance.

  • Do not take or get any chemical peels, laser skin resurfacing, vitamin E, retinol, or fish oil, at least 4 weeks before your appointment.

  • Avoid exercising on the day of your appointment. Note that you won't be able to heavily exercise (cause the face to sweat), use a sauna, swim, or tan for ONE-week post-treatment. Moderate exercise is fine.

  • Please read the aftercare and arrange your schedule accordingly to the healing stage. There is downtime for every procedure.

For Lips:

  • If your appointment is booked during an outbreak of cold sores on your lips the procedure may not be done. Please be aware that you have the simplex virus herpes, you may awaken an outbreak following this treatment. It is highly recommended to take an anti-viral medication such as Zivorax 5 days before, then the day of. Then 5 days after or as advised by your doctor or pharmacist.

  • Do not get lip injections 6 weeks before and after this treatment.

For brows:

  • If you are experiencing a period of skin sensitivity or allergies, we recommend rescheduling your appointment.

  • If you've had eyebrow implants or eyebrow surgery, we suggest waiting at least six months after the procedure before getting tattooing done.

During the appointment, we will discuss the shape and color before commencing the tattooing process. Tattooing will only begin once the final design is drawn for you and has received your approval.

CAN YOU COVER UP AN OLD TATTOO?

Please send us pictures of your previous tattoo to confirm that we can do a coverup.

DOES THIS PROCEDURE TRIGGER COLD SORES?

This procedure can potentially activate cold sores in individuals carrying the herpes simplex virus. To minimize the risk of cold sore outbreaks, it's advisable to consult your family doctor and obtain a prescription for antiviral medication such as Zovirax. Take the medication for 5 days before the procedure, on the procedure day, and for 5 days after. Keep in mind that a cold sore outbreak can impact the final appearance of the healed tattoo.

FOR LIP BLUSH CAN WE GO OUTSIDE THE LIPLINE?

Correct, only 2mm. The skin on the lips differs from that on the face, and tattooing too far beyond the natural lip line can result in an unnatural appearance or unpredictable outcomes.

HOW CAN I PAY?

Cash, e-transfer, or debit/credit card.

IS IT CUSTOMARY TO TIP FOR PERMANENT MAKEUP?

Tips are greatly valued! Just like in any service-oriented field, it's customary to offer a tip of 10-20%.

WHAT IF I'VE HAD MY LIPS TATTOOED BY SOMEBODY ELSE? CAN I STILL BOOK WITH YOU?

I do not perform touch-ups on work done by other artists or work over previous tattoos done by another artist.

HAVE I CONSIDERED A DARK LIP NEUTRALIZATION OR A LIP BLUSH?

If your lips display a two-toned, cool, brown, or dark appearance, a neutralization procedure will be necessary. If you're uncertain, feel free to email a photo of your lips taken in natural lighting to misss.saltpmu@gmail.com for confirmation.

HOW LONG IS THE TREATMENT?

From start to finish, the brows procedure takes roughly 2.5-3.5 hrs. the lips procedure takes roughly between 3-4 hours. This includes consulting, photos, color selection, pre-drawing, numbing, treatment, and aftercare preparation. We want to make sure to take our time with every client as there are a lot of steps involved

HOW LONG IS THE RECOVERY?

The color recovery period is around 1-3 months.

  • For lips with a normal starting color, the recovery period is usually about a month.

  • For lips with a naturally dark color, the recovery period usually takes about two months. Thus, after dark lip corrections, patience is required for the color to recover. The color should stabilize around the two month mark.

  • The recovery time for eyebrows is relatively quick, usually without an awkward phase. Around 7 days, there may be some color fading, and the color should stabilize after 28 days.

Make sure to consult the aftercare section to plan your schedule accordingly to avoid any activities that can make the color fade faster.
